D-Day invasion stripes as worn by P-51D 44-13318 named 'Frenesi' after a popular wartime jazz number. Flown on D-Day by Lt Col Thomas L Hayes of the 357th Fighter Group, 8th Air Force. 'Frenesi' was pronounced 'frennessee' (like Tennessee) in Sinatra's wartime recording. 'Frenesi' could also be read as 'Free and Easy!'
